Job summary

Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories (MERL) invites graduate students for research internships in Cambridge, MA, focusing on Embodied AI and Humanoid Robotics. You will work on cutting-edge AI technologies for dexterous manipulation, perception, and control, with the goal of publishing at top AI and robotics conferences.

The internship spans about four months with start date flexibility, located in Cambridge, MA.

Qualifications

• Strong research experience in robotics, embodied AI, machine learning, computer vision, or related fields.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX, and strong Python programming skills.
• Familiarity with Vision-Language-Action models, Foundation Models or multimodal AI, reinforcement learning or imitation learning, robot manipulation, motion planning, or control.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to high-impact research resulting in publications at leading AI and robotics conferences.
• Collaborate on Embodied AI and Humanoid Robotics projects with state-of-the-art methods.
• Develop AI technologies enabling humanoid robots to understand, reason, and interact with the physical world.
