Job Overview

Zymo Research is looking for a dynamic individual to join our sample prep team. This is an exciting opportunity to explore the impact of cutting‑edge methods, technologies, and applications in DNA purification, molecular microbiology, and genetic engineering.

In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently executing experiments, compiling data, and communicating research findings. You will be mentored by a senior team member to guide your contributions to research project objectives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Design and conduct scientific experiments to support product development.
• Analyze, interpret, and summarize experimental data.
• Document experimental results and write SOPs for various processes.
• Present results and provide updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with other researchers and cross‑functional team members.
• Record and analyze results and regularly present findings and progress to the research team.

Education & Experience

• Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field.
• Experience performing molecular biology, biochemistry, and microbiology techniques, including primer design, PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, cloning, DNA and RNA purification, etc.
• Experience with microbial cell culture techniques, including media preparation and culturing.
• A proven track record of designing, executing, analyzing, documenting, and troubleshooting laboratory experiments.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated base compensation range for this position is $20 at the time of posting. Actual compensation details will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and are based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
