Job summary

Iterative Health in Cedar Park, Texas, is seeking a full-time, on-site Research Intern to support Clinical Research Coordinators in daily trial activities. You will help assess patient eligibility, screen potential participants, and manage recruitment networks within protocol and IRB requirements.

You will document patient data in the CTMS, assist with recruitment strategies, and learn to navigate EMR and study protocols under supervision.

Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply clinic policies and research protocols.
  • Ability to use standard office software.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clinical research staff with reviewing protocols for patient eligibility criteria
  • Assist with managing recruitment and referral networks, screening subjects for eligibility using inclusion/exclusion criteria
  • Learn to navigate EMR and other clinical databases
  • Document patient information in the Clinical Trials Management System
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies in line with IRB approvals
  • Under guidance, navigate study protocols and chart reviews to complete tasks
  • Protect the rights and welfare of human research participants per regulations
  • Cooperate with site compliance and PHI access/disclosure controls
  • Other duties as assigned

Research Intern

We are seeking a full-time, on-site Research Intern. The Intern is a specialized research professional working with and under the direction of the Clinical Principal Investigator (PI) and site management. The primary responsibility of the Intern is to assist the Clinical Research Coordinators with conduct of research studies. The Intern supports and facilitates the daily clinical trial activities and plays a supportive role in the conduct of the study, especially related to patient eligibility and recruitment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clinical research staff with reviewing protocols for patient eligibility criteria
  • Assist with managing recruitment and referral networks, screening subjects for eligibility using protocol specific inclusion and exclusion criteria, documenting each potential participant’s eligibility or exclusion and prioritizing patients for outreach and follow up
  • Learn to navigate various databases and referral sources for patients, including the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and other clinical databases
  • Document patient information in the Clinical Trials Management System
  • Works with the Study Team to develop and implement recruitment strategies in accordance with site policies and IRB requirements and approvals
  • Under guidance from research staff, become proficient in navigating research, study protocols, and chart reviews to complete the above tasks
  • Assists Study Team in protection of the rights and welfare of all human research participants involved in research in accordance with Federal regulations
  • Cooperates with site compliance and monitoring efforts regarding the access, use, and disclosure of PHI and reports instances of noncompliance
  • Other duties as assigned
