Zusammenfassung

Arbor Neuroscience is seeking a hardware engineer to ensure the necessary hardware exists to enable cutting-edge neuroscience research. The role covers mechanical, electrical, and bioengineering hardware across animal and human studies, with external partnerships to scale development.

You will design and validate implants, headstage interfaces, and simple circuits, driving portability and robustness for at-home use while ensuring documentation and reproducibility for broader scientific impact.

Qualifikationen

• Depth in mechanical, electrical, or bioengineering, with knowledge of others.
• Track record building functional hardware for research or lab use.
• Ability to work with external engineering teams and ensure requirements.
• Familiarity with CAD and simple board design is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Understand scientists' needs and translate them into hardware requirements.
• Own Forest 1 development: characterize current device and define next version.
• Design, build, and validate hardware for a platform combining electrophysiology and ultrasound in animals.
• Make Forest 1 portable and robust for use outside the clinic.
• Identify what to build in-house vs. contract out and manage contractors.
• Prepare platforms for external use: documentation, reproducibility, and robustness.
