The lab employs cutting-edge technologies (immunopeptidomics, T cell engineering, single-cell transcriptomics, spatial transcriptomics, CRISPR technologies) paired with in vivo animal model systems and human patient-derived biospecimens (organoids and T cells).

Overview

The Freed‑Pastor Laboratory at Dana‑Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School is seeking a highly‑motivated, creative, and collaborative postdoctoral research fellow to join the team. The Freed‑Pastor lab investigates how pancreatic cancer escapes immune eradication to guide novel therapies for pancreatic cancer patients. The lab employs cutting‑edge technologies (immunopeptidomics, T cell engineering, single‑cell transcriptomics, spatial transcriptomics, CRISPR technologies) paired with in‑vivo animal model systems and human patient‑derived biospecimens (organoids and T cells). The candidate should have a strong background in immunology and/or tumor immunology. Experience with T cell engineering (CAR‑T, TCR‑T) and/or immunopeptidomics is preferred (but not required).

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will additionally possess excellent experimental planning and execution skills, good communications skills, an open and creative mind, and a desire to collaborate with others. The candidate will lead independent research projects, report progress and track deliverables, work to develop innovative approaches to advance the field of tumor immunology and pancreatic cancer treatment, and help to train, supervise and mentor staff as needed.

Qualifications
  • Ph.D., M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or doctoral equivalent in a relevant field (immunology, cancer biology, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated scientific contributions to the field.
  • Proven ability to solve challenging technical problems.
  • Clarity of thought in written and oral communication skills.
