Job Title: Research Faculty - IM Medical Oncology (Open Rank/Track Faculty)

Department: Medicine | IM Medical Oncology

Tenure faculty (regardless of rank) - persons with the titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure.

Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty member’s tenure initiation unit (TIU) and, as appropriate, regional campus; obligations will include research, service and/or teaching or clinical practice. These faculty will have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent experience.

Managing Director of Antibody Therapeutics (Research-Track Associate Professor) – Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology and Division of Medical Oncology. The Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology (PIIO) is a comprehensive bench-to-bedside research initiative focused on harnessing the body’s immune system to fight cancer at all levels. Established by a pledge of more than $100 million from Pelotonia, the PIIO represents Ohio State’s commitment to grow the exciting area of immuno-oncology. Led by founding director Zihai Li, MD, PhD, the PIIO builds upon a rich portfolio of active investigator-initiated IO clinical trials being conducted at the OSUCCC – James. The Division of Medical Oncology, led by Christian Rolfo, MD, PhD, MBA, is a nationally recognized leader in cancer research, clinical care, and physician‑scientist training within the Department of Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. The Division’s mission is to revolutionize cancer care by advancing cutting‑edge research across all tumor types, fostering a culture of collaboration and clinical excellence, recruiting and empowering top‑tier talent and seamlessly translating discoveries from bench to bedside. The PIIO and the Division of Medical Oncology (MedOnc) invite applications for a research‑track associate professor position to serve as managing director of a new Antibody Therapeutics Program. We seek an outstanding scientist with a distinguished track record of research in antibody discovery, engineering, and development with a focus on cancer immunotherapy.

Education and Experience Requirements

Applicants must hold an MD, DO, PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree.

Candidates should have a strong record of scholarly achievement, including peer‑reviewed publications and evidence of an established or emerging independent research program with a demonstrated ability to obtain extramural funding.

Applicants should have experience working in collaborative, multidisciplinary research environments and a commitment to mentoring trainees and junior investigators.

Appointment at the rank of Research‑Track Associate Professor will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and academic accomplishments.
