Job summary

The Acoustic Research Laboratory at Tropical Marine Science Institute is seeking a Research Engineer/Associate to contribute to underwater acoustics and marine robotics. You will help develop, implement and test algorithms for machine learning and computer vision, and work with engineers to build test systems and plan field trials.

You will collate and process data, write up results in internal reports, and contribute to publications and patents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Masters in machine learning or computer vision.
• Experience with marine robotics desirable but not mandatory.
• Experience with practical machine learning (for computer vision preferred).
• Strong scientific programming skills (Python or Julia preferred).
• Willingness to learn new skills.
• Interest in practical implementation and field work at sea.
