Job summary

Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas seeks a Research Engineer to interpret and coordinate engineering research, develop experimental designs, and apply statistical methods to analyze test data for composite materials used in aviation. You will collaborate with principal investigators, prepare analyses for reports and grant proposals, and present findings at meetings.

A Bachelor's in Statistics/Applied Math with hands-on data analysis experience is required, along with knowledge of CMH17

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics/Applied Mathematics or related STEM field.
  • 2+ years of experience with data analysis and/or statistics including computer software simulations.
  • 6 months experience using statistics to analyze mechanical test data.
  • 6 months experience using CMH17 Stat and MMPDS Midas standards to analyze test data and produce statistical estimates.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and coordinate research assignments in engineering.
  • Develop and test experimental designs and analytical methods.
  • Analyze statistical data to identify trends, outliers, and relationships.
  • Collaborate with investigators on design, analysis, and reporting of research projects.
  • Prepare analyses and reports for publication and grant proposals.
