Brown University is seeking an Assistant Director, Research Development for the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences. This role supports faculty across Engineering and Physical Sciences by guiding proposal development, seeking federal funding opportunities, and coordinating with centers and institutes.

Formación

• Graduate degree in the physical sciences, engineering, or related field; PhD preferred.
• At least 5+ years of related experience in a university, federal agency, or research institute.
• Experiential knowledge (proposal writing, program management, agency experience) of federal funding agencies (NSF, NASA, DoD, DoE) required.

Responsabilidades

• Faculty relationship management: establish collaborative relationships with faculty eligible to submit federal funding proposals; guide new faculty on a research career.
• Proposal development: provide research development support and coaching for proposals; identify federal funding opportunities and assist in non-technical components.
• Institutional relationships: support leadership in building relationships with agencies like NASA, DoD and DoE and their labs.
• Technical workshops: assist in creating workshops and coaching for NSF proposal writing and broader impacts.
