Job summary

RiseIT Solutions is seeking a Research Data Storage Developer in Princeton, NJ to contribute to TigerData integration, metadata extraction, and data movement workflows for advancing campus research.

You will build interfaces for the TigerData presentation layer, integrate with ORCID, Globus, cloud storage, and other repositories, and help plan and estimate software projects within an agile team, in a 3-year, benefits-eligible term.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience as a developer in complex software Systems.
  • Experience with an object oriented language, preferably Ruby or Java.
  • Experience with test-driven development, preferably using RSpec or JUnit.
  • Ability to work in a Linux-based environment.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and data/metadata formats.
  • Experience with Agile software development practices.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Build, test, debug, and document software to support research data management and workflows.
  • Develop interfaces for the TigerData presentation layer using API.
  • Integrate with data sources such as TigerData, ORCID, Globus, cloud storage, and repositories.
  • Analyze, transform, migrate, and process data and metadata.
  • Build tools and workflows to validate research data submissions.
  • Automate and streamline manual tasks.
  • Help plan and estimate software project work.
  • Embedded with a team of PUL developers in an Agile environment.
  • Maintain a strong partnership with PUL software group for TigerData implementation.
