Job description

The Research Data Specialist will support the Hematologic Malignancy Data Repository (HMDR) within the Heme Malignancy clinical research program at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, under the auspices of the Principal Investigator, Dr. Coleman Lindsley, in the areas of data collection, computing, and database organization ("https://lcdr.dana-farber.org" and "https://lindsleylab.dana-farber.org"). These job duties will be primarily related to capturing clinical, genomic, and pathologic information on patients with hematologic abnormalities, including patients with acute leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and other blood cancers. Duties may include but are not limited to: interviews/discussion with clinicians and scientists in order to develop and refine database architecture; examination, synthesis, and evaluation of medical records; the abstraction and recording of pertinent medical information; and the monitoring of patient status. The Research Data Specialist will be responsible for the collection, management, and quality assurance review of patient clinical and research data. The Research Data Specialist may work as a content expert by helping clinical and translational researchers develop data requests, and enhance database functionality.

This position’s work location is hybrid with two or three days per week onsite in Boston, MA. The selected candidate may only work remote days from a New England state (ME, VT, NH, MA, CT, RI).

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

The position requires a bachelor’s degree or 1 year of experience as a Dana-Farber Associate Research Data Specialist. Experience of 0-1 years in a medical, scientific research, or technology-oriented business environment is preferred.

Pay Transparency Statement

The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications.

For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
