Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Research Coordinator to support the Illinois Perinatal Quality Collaborative (ILPQC) project. The role focuses on coordinating meetings, webinars, notes, task management, and data management to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes across Illinois hospitals.

You will work with executive directors, clinical leads, and hospital teams, travel periodically, and contribute to quality improvement and grant activities.

Qualifications

  • BS in public health, nursing, social work, social or health science or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience and 3 years’ research study or other relevant experience required;
  • 2 years experience in research;
  • Spanish speaking preferred; experience with recruitment and follow up in clinical settings; data management experience with REDCap, SPSS, Ripple; strong organization and communication skills; able to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders; travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate webinars and advisory board meetings;
  • Assist in event planning and communications for in-person collaborative learning;
  • Coordinate data collection, analysis, and reporting for statewide quality improvement initiatives;
  • Provide quality improvement support via calls, meetings, and regional events;
  • Assist with budgeting, expenses, invoices, and grant reporting;
  • Travel to hospitals and stakeholder sites monthly to quarterly; potential national travel.

Hourly Pay Range:

$24.86 - $37.29 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate’s expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Summary:

This position will serve as a Project Coordinator of the Illinois Perinatal Quality Collaborative (ILPQC) project focused on coordinating meetings, webinars, notes, task management, hospital quality improvement support and data management for quality improvement initiatives to support participating Illinois birthing hospitals in setting up systems and facilitating culture change to improve outcomes for women and newborns. ILPQC facilitates state-wide quality improvement initiatives to equitably improve maternal and neonatal outcomes and reduce disparities in birthing hospitals across the state.

Project Description

ILPQC is a nationally recognized Perinatal Quality Collaborative (PQC) with approximately 90 participating hospitals. ILPQC facilitates state-wide quality improvement initiatives to equitably improve maternal and neonatal outcomes and reduce disparities in birthing hospitals across the state by providing: opportunities for collaborative learning, rapid response data, and hospital team QI support. Current projects include Newborn Equity and Safe Sleep, Perinatal Mental Health, Care of the Late Preterm Infant and a Birth Quality Designation.

The position will work closely with the ILPQC Executive Director / Obstetric Lead, Project Director / Quality Lead, Neonatal Leads, ILPQC staff and interns, clinical leads, advisory workgroups, patients and community members, and hospital quality improvement teams (providers, nurses, staff) on the development, implementation, and sustainability of initiatives.

What you will do:
  • Content creation for regular webinars, including obstetric and neonatal community advisory board meetings and statewide webinars
  • Assist in event planning for twice annual in-person collaborative learning opportunities including event planning and related communications including support of website/social media communication
  • Coordinate ILPQC data collection, analysis, and reporting for statewide quality improvement initiatives
  • Provide quality improvement support including individual calls, small group meetings, regional meetings, and other formats as identified
  • Participate in financial coordination including monitoring budgets, submitting expenses, processing invoices and related tasks
  • Assist with grant writing, monitoring grant timelines, and producing grant reports to funding organizations as well as abstracts and papers for publication.
  • Some (approximately once per month to quarterly) travel to hospitals, community, and stakeholder locations throughout Illinois is required with potential for national travel for collaborative meetings.
What you will need:
  • Education: BS in public health, nursing, social work, social or health science or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience and 3 years’ research study or other relevant experience required;
  • Experience: 2 years experience in research
  • Unique or Preferred Skills: Spanish speaking preferred. Experience facilitating recruitment and follow up strategies with clinic personnel and operational problem solving. Experience working with data management systems and software such as REDCap, SPSS, Ripple. Excellent organization, time management, problem solving and communication (both written and verbal) skills. Ability to interact in a professional and sensitive manner with medical personnel, research subjects, research collaborators, community groups and other research staff. Must be able to work independently or with minimal supervision, and show initiative. Experience working with children between the ages of 15 months to 6 years. Spanish Fluency is strongly preferred
