Job summary

The Mulvaney lab at the Children’s National Research and Innovation Center in Washington, DC, affiliated with Virginia Tech, seeks a full-time research coordinator. The role combines computational analyses, data modeling, and documentation to support cancer research projects targeting enzyme vulnerabilities.

You will maintain notebooks, manage data in GitHub and GEO, and have opportunities to publish. Training will be provided, and collaboration spans VT, CNH, and FBRI partners.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated research experience.
  • Familiarity with bioinformatics packages and applied knowledge of RNA and proteomics data.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to succeed in a fast-paced research environment with multiple concurrent duties.
  • Proficiency with data analysis and visualization in R and coding in Python (or similar systems).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Eager to learn and perform wet bench molecular biology and cancer research.

Responsibilities

  • Perform computational analyses and modeling.
  • Maintain a well-kept lab notebook and documentation on GitHub, GEO and other relevant computational databases for publication.
  • Training will be provided for all aspects of the position.
  • RAs will contribute to interesting projects and have the opportunity to publish or co-publish their work.
