Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a motivated Research Computing Software Engineer to join the ARL in the Cloud Technology Advancement Department in State College, PA. You will perform DevSecOps to design and implement secure, automated infrastructure for high-performance computing environments.

You will participate in CI/CD pipelines, review code, and collaborate with an agile team to deliver reliable infrastructure solutions while adhering to security practices and DoD SkillBridge

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 1+ years of related experience.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps tools and practices.
• Linux-based infrastructure and system administration knowledge.
• Automation via scripting (Ansible or Puppet).
• Interest in Cloud-Native Computing Foundation tools like Kubernetes.
• CI/CD pipeline development skills.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to preempt issues.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure, automated infrastructure for HPC environments using Agile methods.
• Collaborate with team to review pull requests and unit tests.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines for frequent, reliable deployments of infrastructure code.
• Configure compute resources and networks including bare metal and virtualized environments.
• Demonstrate work to internal and occasional external customers.
• Coordinate with Agile team to identify risks and design solutions daily.
