Temple Health – Temple University Health System seeks a Research Compliance Manager to administer safety and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and policies. The role includes managing IBC operations, laboratory safety training, IACUC activities, and related continuing education for staff.
The position requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of related field experience, including laboratory animal care and biosafety knowledge; NIH guidelines experience is preferred.
The Research Compliance Manager is part of Office of Research Regulatory Affairs (ORRA). Goal is to administer innovative safety & compliance to ensure compliance with, federal, state & local regulations, industry standards & FCCC policies. Responsibilities include managing operations for the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), Laboratory Safety Training program, Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee (IACUC) & related continuing education of staff. Manages animal-related Post-Approval Monitoring & coordinates laboratory safety inspections. Provides support to the IACUC & IBC. Oversees tracking & routing protocols for animal authorizations & IBC submissions; provides training & support to investigators for protocol management; using software database; oversees & coordinates functions related to the IACUC & IBC; tracks, coordinates & submits all related compliance activities to agencies & FCCC offices; maintains and updates internal IACUC & IBC website; stays current with animal & biosafety related policies & procedures. Provides support for the controlled substance program including training & documentation. Promote continuous programmatic improvement and overall excellence & foster a culture of safety & incident prevention as a core value. Responsible for Research Compliance activities as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree Required
3 years experience in a related field Required
3 Years Experience In Laboratory Animal Care/use Procedures Required
2 years experience in biological laboratory setting and knowledge of BioSafety Levels Required
General Experience and working knowledge of laboratory animal care husbandry procedures, the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, AAALAC
Requirements & Biosafety In Microbiological And Biomedical Laboratories Preferred
General Experience with the NIH Guidelines for Research involving Recombinant or Synthetic Nucleic Acid Molecules Preferred
