The Department of Cancer Biology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of protein biochemistry, cell culture techniques, molecular biology, imaging, epigenetics and chromatin biology, and animal models of development and cancer. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.
Responsibilities may include investigation of epigenetic mechanisms in development and cancer, using a wide range of approaches including molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, epigenomic analysis, and animal models.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to further develop critical thinking skills, get familiarized with related literatures and experimental techniques, participate in manuscript and grant preparation, present research findings in national and international meetings, mentor junior scientists, and participate in career trainings offered by the University.
Candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years postdoctoral experience.
