Job summary

The University of Miami, SOM, seeks a full-time Research Associate 1 to support skin research projects by conducting laboratory experiments and advancing expertise through ongoing education and training. Under supervision of the lab head and senior staff, you will handle transgenic mice, prepare and analyze samples, perform DNA/RNA/protein and histology work, and maintain detailed lab notes.

You will also assist with manuscripts, presentations and training of other personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required in a related field.
• Ability to follow protocols with accuracy and care.

• Flexibility to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Understand and interpret research protocols and procedures.
• Collect, prepare, analyze, and evaluate specimens or tissue cultures.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and perform routine assays.
• Carry out DNA, RNA, protein and histology analyses as required.
• Maintain organized, dated, and up-to-date lab notes and records.
• Assist in preparing manuscripts, presentations, and grants; train other staff.
