Job summary

Planet Pharma is seeking a Research Associate I, Pharmaceutical Development to support drug discovery and product development for small molecules from early discovery through clinical trial enabling studies.

Responsibilities include preparing formulations, stability testing, and assisting with formulation development. Strong chemistry background and HPLC/UPLC skills are required, with MS/XRD a plus.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of basic chemistry principles.
  • Excellent quantitative lab skills: weighing, pipetting, glassware.
  • Proficiency in HPLC/UPLC; MS experience is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Experience with safe handling of potent compounds.
  • BS/BA or higher in chemistry, pharmaceutics, engineering, or related field.

Job description

Position Description

Seeking a Research Associate I, Pharmaceutical Development to provide scientific, technical, and hands‑on support of drug discovery and product development related to small molecules from early discovery to clinical trial enabling studies.

  • Prepare and characterize preclinical formulations in support of multiple programs.
  • Perform stability and solubility testing using HPLC/UPLC.
  • Assist with pre-formulation and formulation development for oral solid dosage forms.
  • Contribute to internal and external presentations and publications.
Required Qualifications
  • Thorough understanding of basic chemistry principles
  • Excellent basic quantitative laboratory skills including weighing, pipetting, and use of volumetric glassware.
  • Strong basic HPLC/UPLC skills and understanding (XRD and Mass Spec experience a plus)
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365
  • Experience in safe handling of potent compounds.
  • BS/BA or higher in chemistry, pharmaceutics, engineering, or related field
