UTMB Health is seeking a Research Associate I to perform standardized laboratory assignments and experiments in a standard lab environment. Under direct supervision, you will set up and conduct experiments, prepare biological assays and maintain comprehensive records.

The role emphasizes basic quantitative and qualitative data analysis, data tabulation, and inventory management, with routine and non-routine projects guided by the PI of the laboratory.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in basic science or equivalent.
• No experience required.
• Strong communication skills and basic managing skills.
• Some experience in big data analysis.

Responsabilidades

• Under direct supervision, performs standard research assignments involving a series of related operations.
• Sets up and conducts standard research experiments following detailed technical instructions.
• Prepares biological assays and conducts basic quantitative and qualitative analysis.
• Maintains records of all tests performed and data collected.
• Assists in the compilation and tabulation of data and provides preliminary analysis.
• Assembles, calibrates, operates and makes minor modifications to laboratory equipment as defined by guidelines.
• Adheres to internal controls established for department.
• Performs related duties as required.
• Performs routine and non-routine research assignments as designed by the PI of the laboratory.
• Maintains inventory of all laboratory supplies related to research, documentation of research data, update chemical and lab inventory.
• Lab ordering related to ongoing projects, annual inspection.
• Perform biological assays and conduct quantitative and qualitative assays (e.g., Imaging, immunohistochemistry, histology, RT-qPCR, Western blotting, cell culture, animal studies, statistical analysis, data management).
