Job summary

Crown Bioscience, Inc. in San Diego, CA, is seeking an In Vivo Research Associate I to support in vivo studies within the In Vivo Pharmacology group. You will work with study directors and cross-functional teams to collect body weight data, tumor volumes, and tissue samples.

Responsibilities include preparing animals, performing clinical observations and basic in vivo procedures, and accurately logging time spent on projects. overtime/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant life science/biotech experience.
• Comfortable working in a laboratory animal research environment.
• AALAS ALAT level or higher is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with study directors and cross-functional teams to ensure studies follow protocols and SOPs.
• Collect body weight data and tumor volume measurements.
• Collect tissue samples and process for shipment to sponsor or internal use.
• Prepare animals for procedures and perform clinical observations.
• Perform basic in vivo procedures (PO, SC, IP dosing) and track project time.

**Grow Your Career Where Talent Meets Innovation****JOB SUMMARY**:The purpose of the In Vivo Research Associate I position is to provide support on In vivo studies within the In Vivo Pharmacology group meeting Company's goals, objectives and quality standards.**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Works closely with Study Directors, Study Coordinators, In Vivo Managers, and cross functional team members to ensure all assigned studies are conducted in accordance with study protocols, standard operating procedures and company policies* Collection of body weight data* Collection of tumor volume measurements* Collect tissue samples and process for shipment to sponsor as well as internal purposes* Preparation of animals for procedures, including shaving, ear tagging and other tasks as directed* Performance of clinical observations and humane euthanasia in mice* Collect relevant data and provide feed back to team members regarding progress of assigned projects* Performance of basic in vivo procedures, including PO, SC and IP dosing* May be trained on more complex procedures* Providing general group support by cleaning, general supply stocking and sample shipping* Responsible for tracking time spent on projects (project logs)**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS*** Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience in the life science/biotech industry* Comfortable working in a laboratory animal research environment**PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS*** AALAS certification at ALAT level or higher is preferred**WORKING CONDITIONS and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:*** Requires physical dexterity of fingers, hands, wrists, and arms* Requires overtime hours to be worked, as well as possible work on weekends and holidays* Picking up and moving materials and supplies* Sitting for long periods of time* Standing for long periods of time* Prolonged computer usage* Able to lift up to 25lbs* Frequently required to use repetitive hand/wrist/arm motion* BSL-2 Lab Environment* Normal office environmentThe California salary range for this position is:Research Associate I: $23- $27.82Research Associate II: $27-$31.50This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience.*Crown Bioscience is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
