This position affords the unique opportunity to participate in the translation of basic science discoveries into therapeutic opportunities with a hybrid academic-industrial perspective. The successful candidate will work with a highly collaborative and multi-disciplinary team of scientists in a fast-paced environment and will participate in the design, execution, and analysis of a variety of standard and novel cell biology, molecular biology and biochemistry assays.

Techniques will include but are not limited to mammalian cell tissue culture, site-directed mutagenesis, molecular cloning, CRISPR-based genome editing, cell viability assays, Western blotting, qRT-PCR gene expression analysis, and next-generation sequencing. Responsibilities include assay development and troubleshooting, investigating new methods, analyzing data, interpreting results, and clearly communicating results to the project team.

Characteristic duties:
  • In consultation with the supervisor, conduct experiments involving standard molecular biology and mammalian tissue culture techniques.
  • Understand and faithfully execute established experimental protocols.
  • Diligently document experimental procedures, analyze data, and discuss results with supervisor in timely manner.

  • Participate in internal and external team meetings to share results and plan experiments.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the team.
Required skills and abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences
  • Solid foundational knowledge on molecular and cell biology; research experience involving relevant lab techniques highly desirable
  • At least 1 year of undergraduate independent research exposure that comes from extracurricular engagements (outside of coursework)
  • Strong work ethic and desire to learn and contribute to team science
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, diligent lab notebook practices and attention to details are essential.
