Job summary

UNSW Canberra is seeking a Research Associate for a 2-year fixed-term contract at ADFA Campus. The role supports cryptography, machine learning and biometrics research within the School of Systems and Computing, contributing to research outputs and publications at international venues.

Applicants should hold a PhD in CS or Math, demonstrate independent research capability and publish in top venues. Visa sponsorship is not available; full rights to work in Australia required.

Qualifications

• PhD in CS or Math or relevant area.
• Experience conducting innovative and independent research.
• Publications in high-quality journals and/or conferences.
• Strong background in post-quantum or applied cryptography.
• Capability of applying deep learning models to biometrics research.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent research within cryptography, ML, biometrics.
• Develop and publish research results in international journals and conferences.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary research activities within the School of Systems and Computing.
