Job summary

LSU Health New Orleans seeks a Research Associate 3 to assist in managing the Genomics Core used by multiple investigators. The role includes planning and conducting independent research, specimen preparation, processing, and invoicing for services rendered, under the Genomics Core Director.

The incumbent will train and supervise students and visiting Fellows, contribute to technological upgrades, and support international programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Basic Science, Health Science, or related field
• Five years' experience working in a Core laboratory or conducting bench research
• Experience training and supervising students and visiting Fellows
• Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience or a PhD, MD, or DDS preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with management of the Genomics Core used by multiple investigators

Job description

The Research Associate 3 (RA3) will assist with the management of the Genomics Core used by multiple investigators at LSUHSC and other institutions, including international programs. The incumbent is responsible for technological upgrades and conducting highly specialized and advanced experiments. The incumbent will plan, organize, and conduct highly independent research under the direction of the Genomics Core Director to include, but not limited to, specimen prep and processing, managing supplies, and invoicing for services rendered. The RA3 will also train and supervise students and visiting Fellows when applicable.
