Job summary

Corteva Agriscience in Woodland, CA is seeking a Research Associate to join the Crop Health R&D Integrated Field Science Team. You will support project leaders in executing trials, collect field data, and assist with agronomic activities from planting to harvesting.

Candidates should have a BS or 5+ years experience, CA QAL license, English fluency; experience with field trials; no visa sponsorship. The role may involve drones, sensors, and technology in field science.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of BS degree in Crop Science, Agronomy, Plant Sciences, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Weed Science, or related field or 5+ years of direct experience in a similar role.
  • California QAL license, or ability to obtain as soon as possible.
  • Experience with implementation of applied agricultural field trials preferred.
  • Agronomic experience in California specialty crops highly desired.
  • High proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English required. Spanish proficiency is desirable.
  • Work / Visa Sponsorship not offered for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting specialty crop project managers in crop protection trial management (i.e. plot spraying, assessments, data input, etc.).
  • Supporting specialty crop project managers and the local agronomy team to ensure the proper utilization of all agronomic practices (i.e. recommendations for pest management, field preparation, planting, irrigation, and harvest).
  • Train and oversee intern and work crews that are completing tasks.
  • Actively engage in all planning meetings, acting as a vocal consultant to scientists and agronomy team.
  • Mix and apply chemicals as needed.
  • Operate farm equipment on-site.
  • Implement required safety programs.

Corteva Agriscience has an opportunity for a Research Associate. In this role, you will use your scientific knowledge and agricultural experience to act as an integral member of our Crop Health R&D Integrated Field Science Team in Woodland, CA.

Responsibilities will include supporting project leaders in execution of assigned trials and treatments for assigned disciplines, collecting, recording, and conducting quality control of field data, supporting agronomic activities (i.e., planting, sampling and harvesting), and supporting technology development and execution (i.e., drones, sensors, etc.). Experience in specialty crops such as brassicas, leafy vegetables, cole crops, fruiting vegetables, trees and vines is valued.

The salary range for this position is $ to $. This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base salary for this role. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus. Based on factors such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made.
