Job description

A PhD-level laboratory research position is available immediately at the Tisch Multiple Sclerosis Research Center of New York (Tisch MSRCNY). Tisch MSRCNY is an independent research center with a state-of-the-art research facility in New York City. This position represents an exciting opportunity to join an interdisciplinary team of scientists dedicated to finding the cause and cure of MS, with specific areas of interest including (1) the viral etiology of MS, (2) mechanisms of disease progression, (3) repair and regeneration strategies, including stem cell research, (4) biomarker discovery and validation, and (5) translational research trials. Under the direction of Saud A. Sadiq, MD, the Tisch MSRCNY is closely affiliated with the International Multiple Sclerosis Management Practice, creating a unique environment designed to accelerate the pace of scientific discovery. The available position is at the Research Associate level. Applicants should demonstrate their capabilities to work in any of the following specific areas: (1) Immunology, with background in autoimmunity or innate immunity; and/or (2) Neuroscience, with background in glial biology or mechanisms of neurodegeneration. Successful candidate will be expected to lead an independent research project, collaborate with other Tisch MSRCNY scientists, and train and supervise research technicians. Applicants should have a PhD or MD/PhD with relevant postgraduate experience. Applicants must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and should demonstrate ability to work as a team.
