Job summary

American University seeks a part-time Jack Child Research Assistant (Student) to support Spanish and Latin American studies research on campus.

You will assist tenured faculty, conduct interviews in Spanish linguistics, and help with writing, editing, and course development, while coordinating with the DC Latinx language project and Montgomery College collaborations funded by the Ruth Joan Baron Language Impact Award 2026.

Qualifications

• Assist tenured Spanish faculty with their research in Spanish or Latin American studies.
• Aid in Spanish linguistics research such as conducting interviews.
• Provide general research, writing, editing, and course development support and aid with departmental program tasks and events.
• Other duties as assigned.
