University of North Texas System is seeking a Research Assistant (Scheduler) to support the Institute for Translational Research at the Health Science Center in Fort Worth. The role involves coordinating participant visits, scheduling imaging and assessments, and assisting with administrative tasks on-site.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and strong organizational, bilingual (English/Spanish) abilities are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); SPSS; STATA.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks; communicate effectively; work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduler for each component of participant visits: Interview, Neuropsychological Testing, Blood draw, MRI, Medical Exam, Feedback Sessions.
  • Check participants into the electronic check-in system.
  • Coordinate imaging center appointments (new/canceling/pending).
  • Blood draw: create blood draw entry, complete Quest lab forms for returning participants, escort participants to Quest, deliver samples to lab.
  • Medical Exams: interpret English to Spanish for Nurse Practitioner when needed.

Department Summary

The Institute for Translational Research is devoted to bringing novel diagnostics and interventions to patients and families suffering from neurodegenerative diseases, fostering translational research in neurodegenerative diseases at UNTHSC, and Create solutions for a healthier community. Our team spans basic "bench-top" science, clinical research, community-based research and clinical trials. Our translational approach is intended to foster discovery and expedite those discoveries toward the benefit of those suffering from brain disease. A particular emphasis of ITR is the development of personalized (or person-focused) medicine for Alzheimer's disease.

Position Overview

Position created to support the ITR studies, staff and ITR participants. This position will assist with participants during the ITR studies as well as research administrative and scheduling duties.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Employees in this job may be responsible for conducting research on, working on, or having the ability to access critical organizational infrastructure and they must be able to maintain the security and integrity of the infrastructure related to this role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge and skills in using a range of software programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), SPSS, STATA. Ability to work independently. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks. Ability to communicate effective; perform other administrative/clerical tasks. Aptitude in general laboratory procedures, techniques, and documentation. Willingness to acquire competence in new techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual English/ Spanish preferred
