Job summary

The Hershey Company is seeking a Research Assistant, Pretzels & Bold Snacking, to support innovation and process development at the Hershey Technical Center in Hershey, PA. You will work with scientists and engineers across Pretzels and Bold Snacking portfolios to drive product development.

Responsibilities include pilot plant and lab trials, sample preparation, data generation, and collaboration with diverse teams to advance commercialization of new snacks while adhering to safety and quality

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering Technology, Biology, Chemistry or related field preferred.
• Experience with food processing equipment or laboratory environments is preferred.
• Technical or professional certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support pilot plant and lab trials by preparing ingredients and equipment.
• Operate pilot-scale processing equipment such as extruders, fryers, ovens, mixers.
• Monitor processing parameters and adjust as needed.
• Prepare samples for sensory evaluations and internal reviews.
• Maintain technical records and organize lab data.
• Assist with equipment setup, teardown, cleaning and maintenance.
• Ensure safety, quality and food safety compliance.
• Collaborate with R&D, Operations, Quality and cross-functional teams.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and travel up to 10%.
