Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a full-time laboratory position in the Immunobiology department at the Burnet Campus. You will serve as a resource, perform experiments, record data, and help maintain lab operations while supporting colleagues and students.

Starting pay ranges from $20.57 to $25.72 per hour, based on experience, skills, and equity; additional pay differentials and benefits may apply. A high school diploma with 2 years of related experience or a Bachelor's degree is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, and 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Or Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a related field

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Resource - Demonstrate competence in specific knowledge, skills and behaviors. Effectively communicate with team members and contribute to their growth by sharing knowledge, experience, and skills. Stay abreast of changes in key systems. Serve as a resource to the department in specific area(s).
  • Perform experiments and record data - Follow research protocol. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all laboratory work and experiments. Analyze data; perform statistical and graphical analysis of data. Design and execute daily laboratory experiments in coordination with senior laboratory personnel. Reproduces and evaluates techniques and results for accuracy. Apply standard protocols to specific experiments, research and improve current methods, and evaluate innovative techniques. Assists in training students and new/junior laboratory personnel in laboratory techniques and equipment operation.
  • Customer Service - Maintain/manage strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and other key stakeholders. Respond to requests quickly and effectively. Identify and understand customer needs and expectations and meets them. Communicate any relevant information to clients, colleagues, and other key stakeholders.
  • Lab Administration - Troubleshoot and correct erroneous results or problems with laboratory equipment. Reproduces and evaluates techniques and results for accuracy. Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment. Maintain cell cultures. Operate standard laboratory equipment. Use and maintains laboratory equipment appropriately. Responds to obviously erroneous results or problems with equipment. Assists in daily operations of the laboratory including answering phone, maintaining lab supplies, organization, and cleanliness. Provides appropriate safety monitoring checks as assigned (radiation safety, biosafety, etc.).
