Job summary

UTHealth Houston is seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to support basic and translational studies, possibly including animal work, under supervision. The role involves handling biological samples, conducting laboratory experiments, and collecting data to assist principal investigators.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and experience in a laboratory setting, with knowledge of cell culture and molecular biology assays preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a research laboratory setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of cell culture, molecular biology assay, and data collection is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory experiments and activities to support research objectives.
• Collect, organize, and prepare research data for principal investigators.
• Maintain clean lab equipment and work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Order laboratory supplies as directed by senior staff.
• Stay updated on procedures and training; participate in seminars and workshops.
• Coordinate the work of technicians when needed to ensure high-quality results.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
