Job summary

University of North Dakota invites applications for a part-time, non-benefited position available to UND students. The role involves building an experimental setup with pumps, columns, and tubing and supporting related lab activities on campus.

Qualifications

Salary/Position Classification

• $26.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
• 5-10 hours per week
• 100% Remote Work Availability: No
• Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

Purpose of Position

• This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Essential duties include building the experimental setup, which involves connecting pumps, columns, and tubing.
• The student will be responsible for communicating with the core facility for the analysis of samples.
• The student will clean glassware, prepare reagents, and measure dissolved organic carbon/nitrogen, UV254, alkalinity, and pH.

Minimum Requirements

• Background in Chemical and/or Environmental Engineering
• Knowledge of MS Office
• Experience in sample preparation, collection and data logging
• Be able to lift 50 pounds max.
• Attention to detail

• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
