Description

The Department of Biology in the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Research Assistant.

About the Opportunity

The candidate will actively conduct experiments focused on neuroscience questions using in vivo, molecular, and imaging techniques. Reading and interpreting neuroscience grants will be beneficial for aligning experiments with funded projects. The candidate will also help maintain the operation of the lab's zebrafish animal facility.

What You'll Do

• Perform experiments and assist in developing experimental designs for grant-funded projects
• Analyze and interpret biological and genomic data
• Read and interpret grants related to neuroscience research using zebrafish as a model
• Support operation of an animal satellite facility

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related field
• At least six months of related lab experience, including student experience in a lab setting
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
• All qualifications must be met by the time of employment
