Job summary

Genesis Drug Discovery and Development (GD3) seeks a motivated chemist to join its sister company Venenum in Hamilton, NJ, supporting a multidisciplinary team in developing novel therapeutics. You will perform analytical work with LC-MS, NMR and HPLC, maintain instruments, manage compound data, and assist with shipping, invoicing and client inquiries.

Requirements: Bachelor’s in Chemistry with 0–1 year experience; familiarity with Chemdraw and MS Office; strong communication and organizational

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry with 0–1 year of experience.
• Experience with LCMS and NMR, including data interpretation is a plus.
• Familiar with Chemdraw software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a laboratory and office setting on site.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical analysis on instrumentation including LC-MS, NMR, and HPLC (preparative and analytical).
• Maintain instruments and learn basic troubleshooting.
• Manage chemical compound collection, registrations, data sheets, labels and documents.
• Handle shipping and invoicing for compound sales and record-keeping in databases and accounting systems.
• Respond to client inquiries about purity, availability, SDS, etc.
• Learn new techniques to support chemistry division work, including simple reactions or in vitro ADME assays.

Job description

Genesis Drug Discovery and Development (GD3 or Company), a member of the Genesis Global Group, is a fully integrated CRO providing services to support drug discovery programs of our clients from target discovery through GLP tox studies. The GD3 portfolio includes services for assay development, synthetic organic and medicinal chemistry, in vitro ADME, DMPK/in-vivo pharmacology and safety toxicology.

We are seeking a highly motivated chemist to join our sister company Venenum located in Hamilton, NJ. The successful candidate will contribute to the work of a multi-disciplinary community of scientists, supporting the development of novel therapeutics.

Responsibilities

• Under guidance of senior team members, perform analytical analysis on various instrumentation, including LC-MS, NMR, and HPLC (preparative and analytical).
• Perform general instrument maintenance and learn to do basic troubleshooting on instruments.
• Follow SOPs to manage our chemical compound collection for both catalog chemicals and client compounds, including registration of compound, weighing of compounds, preparing data sheets, labels and other documents.
• Handle shipping and invoicing for compound sales, and keep good records in company database and accounting systems.
• Respond to client inquires about compound purity, availability, SDS, etc.
• The successful candidate will learn new techniques for support of chemistry division work after training, which may include running simple chemical reactions, or performing in vitro ADME assays such as solubility

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry with 0 to 1 year experience.
• Experience with LCMS and NMR, including data interpretation a plus.
• Familiar with Chemdraw software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Organizational skills and an attention to detail are essential.
• Must have ability to learn and acquire required skills as noted above.
• Willingness to work both in laboratory and office setting on site.
