The Advanced Computational Medicine Laboratory (ACMLab) is an innovative research group located within the Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC). At the forefront of AI4Science, ACMLab specializes in the intersection of artificial intelligence and neuroimaging. Our research focuses on developing advanced computational models, including LLM, multi-agent system development, graph neural networks (GNNs) and spiking neural networks (SNNs), to decode complex brain dynamics and mechanistically model the progression of neurodegenerative diseases. By building automated multi-agent systems and cutting‑edge computational tools, ACMLab is dedicated to bridging the interdisciplinary gap between computer science and clinical medicine to drive next‑generation healthcare solutions. Role Description

This full‑time hybrid role of Research Assistant is based in Chapel Hill, NC, with opportunities for remote work flexibility. The Research Assistant will support research projects by conducting literature reviews, collecting and analyzing data, preparing reports, and maintaining laboratory or project records. Collaboration with team members, contributing to research presentations, and ensuring compliance with research protocols will also be key responsibilities. The role may include assisting in writing grant proposals and coordinating project logistics to ensure timely deliverables.
