Job summary

Mass General Brigham in Boston is seeking a team member to assist in the daily operation of the Animal Facility, caring for animals used in experiments. The position is onsite at 185 Cambridge Street with a 40-hour work week.

You will follow sterile techniques, track animal health, maintain records, and report issues to the supervisor. A high school diploma is required; 0–1 year experience with animals is preferred; English communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented and precise in daily tasks.
• Multitasking ability to manage several duties.
• Good communication skills in English, both oral and written.
• Experience with animals is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Consistently implements sterile techniques using a barrier microisolator cage system.
• Tracks animal health and notifies supervisors and staff of observations.
• Keeps records of animal mortalities and inventory.
• Maintains Animal Husbandry and Room Maintenance records for each room.
• Reports facility and environmental issues to the animal technician supervisor.
• Attends staff and educational meetings as scheduled.
