Bangs Laboratories, Inc. in Fishers, IN is seeking a results-driven scientist to lead development of in‑house products from concept to launch. You will manage cross‑functional projects, develop test methods, oversee production steps, and ensure ISO‑compliant documentation and quality.
Ideal candidates hold a degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related field; PhD with 3+ years or MS with 5+ years preferred. Industrial R&D experience and leadership are highly valued.

Bangs Laboratories experience in microsphere synthesis and fine particle analysis have established us as a leading manufacturer of polymer, silica and magnetic microspheres for diagnostic, research, and flow cytometry applications. We also manufacture many specialty products to support validation and QC programs for analytical instruments, including a broad portfolio of fluorescent, count, size, and cell viability standards.
Responsibilities: This position is responsible for all aspects of the timely and quality-focused development of new Bangs Laboratories’ in-house products. In addition, this position may be involved in production of standard or custom products, or application support.
Education, Training and Experience:
This position requires a degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, bioengineering, or related scientific field and general, broad-based scientific knowledge. Applicants possessing a PhD with 3 years of relevant experience, a Master’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of relevant experience will be considered. Experience with polymers, polymer synthesis, micro/nanoparticle formulation, magnetic particles, and/or other colloidal systems are preferred. Special consideration will be given to candidates with additional experience in bioconjugation chemistry and/or particle diagnostic test method development. Ideal candidates will have laboratory experience in an industrial R&D setting. The person filling this position must be self-motivated and organized, with good interpersonal and leadership skills. Product and application-specific training will be provided.
