The R&D/Released Product Engineer I plays a key role in supporting medical devices throughout the product lifecycle, from commercialization through end-of-life. This position is responsible for designing, developing, and improving products while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory, quality, and manufacturing requirements. The role partners closely with cross-functional teams to execute sustaining engineering initiatives, product enhancements, change management activities, verification and validation efforts, risk management activities, post-market support, and manufacturing transfers. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong engineering fundamentals, sound technical judgment, and the ability to independently execute engineering assignments while collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Designs, develops, analyzes, troubleshoots and provides technical skills during research and/or product development. Designs studies to investigate specific life science questions within field of expertise. May be involved in product research and development and/or clinical trials. Translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM: Typically an individual contributor with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty. Delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering and overseeing the projects from design to implementation while and adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education (typically University).
