Total Safety is looking for a Rescue Technician to join their safety-conscious team! The Rescue Technician provides technical rescue standby for customer projects, including confined space rescue and technical rope rescue, as well as first aid and CPR. Responsibilities include assessing risks, preparing rescue equipment, planning effective solutions for safe working practices in compliance with client standards, locating and assessing injured patients, extricating and turning them over to EMS for medical care.

Essential Duties:

  • Assess potential hazards, draft Confined Space Rescue Preplans and Rescue Safety Analyses (RSA), communicate hazards, determine hazard controls, and ensure safety equipment and PPE are available and functional.
  • Conduct air quality monitoring and recommend hazard controls or PPE based on data interpretation.
  • Lead daily job briefings with customers and workers.
  • Monitor job conditions and equipment, report observations and recommendations to ensure safety.
  • Complete daily Incident Command System (ICS) reports.
  • In case of accident, locate the patient, assess injuries, extricate, and transfer to EMS; provide first aid and CPR as trained.
  • Maintain rescue equipment through inspection, cleaning, and preventative maintenance to ensure readiness.
  • Inventory and document rescue equipment accurately.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant rescue experience.
  • Certifications: Confined Space Entrant/Attendant, Healthcare Provider CPR, First Aid with AED, First Responder or higher, Haz-wopper, 4 Gas Monitor Operation, OSHA Atmosphere Limitation familiarity, rescue proficiency.
  • Ability to inspect, clean, and maintain rescue equipment for readiness.

Working Environment:

  • Combination of office and field environments.
  • Exposure to wet/humid conditions and outdoor weather.
  • Travel to customer sites approximately 75% of the time.

Educational Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED.
