Job summary

SAAFE House in Huntsville is seeking a part-time Resale Associate for the SAAFE Shoppe. You will manage marketing, social media, and online sales, and you will prepare and price donated items and assist customers at checkout.

You will display items, maintain a clean resale area, train volunteers, promote the shop online, and work with the Community Relations Director to grow sales. Schedule: Mon–Fri, some evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• Retail or resale experience is preferred for the role.
• Bilingual ability is helpful but not required.
• Must have reliable transportation and current auto insurance as required by Texas

Responsibilities

• Prepare donated items for sale, including sorting and steaming as needed.
• Price items for resale and neatly display them on the floor.
• Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the resale area daily.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and check out purchases.
• Verify outgoing donation records and create sales growth opportunities with leadership.
• Help train volunteers and work with Community Relations Director.
• Promote SAAFE Shoppe online with social media and marketing initiatives.
• Build and maintain an online shopping presence on the website and manage supplies.
• Operate SAAFE Shoppe software and ensure it is updated and functional.

Resale Associate

Part-Time

Position Summary: Responsible for Marketing, Social Media management, and online sales. Also, prepare and price items and check out customers in the SAAFE Shoppe, which provides additional funding for program services and the promotion of services provided by the SAAFE House.

Resale Associate

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Retail/Resale experience preferred
• Bilingual preferred but not mandatory
• Must have reliable transportation and current auto insurance as required by the State of Texas

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Serve as Resale Associate to include:

• Prepare donated items for sale to include sorting and steaming as needed
• Price items for resale
• Neatly display items in appropriate racks/shelves on the retail floor
• Maintain general cleanliness and basic maintenance of the resale area daily
• Assist customers in locating merchandise
• Check out customer merchandise
• Verify outgoing donation records for client service advocates and volunteers
• Create sales growth opportunities by working with the Community Relations Director
• Help to train and work with volunteers, interns, and other placements in the duties and responsibilities of SAAFE Shoppe
• Assist in promoting SAAFE Shoppe online, with social media and marketing by working with the Community Relations Director
• Build and maintain an online shopping presence on the website
• Keep track of SAAFE Shoppe supplies and fill out order forms as needed
• Work with SAAFE Shoppe software to ensure it is updated and working correctly

Program Support:

• Attend training approved by the Community Relations Director to maintain proficiency in job responsibilities
• Attend meetings pertinent to job performance
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of a job manual specific to the functions and procedures of the resale shop
• Assist in an annual inventory of SAAFE Shoppe
• Manage and submit documentation of hours worked per agency policies
• Rotation of displayed items in the SAAFE Shoppe display window

Public Relations:

• Ensure quality customer service in all interactions with the general public
• Attend agency sponsor community events as needed
• Bring customer concerns to the Community Relations Director

Additional Job Duties:

• Conditions include working closely with others, working alone, working while children are playing close by, working protracted or irregular hours

Supervisor: Community Relations Director

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 to 5:00

Some evenings and weekends required

Schedules are subject to change to meet the needs of the agency

Status: Non-exempt, Part-Time
