Job summary

Altasciences Preclinical Seattle LLC is hiring an Animal Research Technician to support regulated DART studies in a fast-paced CRO environment. You will perform specialized animal procedures, collect samples, and assist with reproductive and developmental endpoint data, ensuring animal welfare and study integrity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with laboratory animals in gestational models and reproductive toxicology procedures.
• Ability to safely handle rats and rabbits and perform procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow written protocols and SOPs accurately.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Support regulatory DART studies for rats and rabbits, including fertility and embryo-fetal development.
• Observe animals and report changes in health, behavior, appetite, activity or wellbeing.
• Perform study procedures according to approved protocols, SOPs and GLP requirements.
• Collect biological samples including blood and urine.
• Administer test materials and treatments using approved routes.
• Assist with anesthesia, sedation, catheter placement and related procedures.
• Assist with reproductive and developmental endpoint collection and tissue collection.
• Conduct necropsy-related tasks including maternal necropsy, uterine and ovarian assessment.
• Collaborate with Study Directors, Veterinary Services and Operations teams.
• Participate in cross-training and continuous improvement initiatives.
