Job summary

Trinity Health Livonia in Michigan is seeking a Patient Access Rep II to join the Emergency Department. This full-time, on-site role handles outpatient/inpatient registration and insurance verification, collects financial liability, and guides patients through Medicare, payer pre-certifications, and referrals.

The position requires a minimum of two years hospital registration or insurance verification experience, knowledge of medical terminology and coding, and the ability to explain benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

Position Purpose:

Provides patient focused customer servicewithin the Emergency Department. Performs outpatient & / or inpatient registration & insurance verification functions; collects patient financial liability payments & ensures that patients meet financial requirements including Medicare medical necessity, payer pre-certifications & referrals. Provides general information to hospital users, patients,families,and physicianoffices.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GEDrequired.
• HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one (1) year of hire.

Performs all aspects of the Patient Access Rep I role & is cross trained & performs activities in Pre-Service, Emergency Department & / or Bed Desk

Required Qualifications of a Patient Access Rep II:

• Minimum of two (2) years of hospital registration or insurance verification experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, diagnosticcoding,and proceduralcodingis required.
• Ability to explain insurance benefits.
