Job summary

A leading gas supplier is seeking an Inside Sales Representative with a Class B CDL and HAZMAT endorsement to manage sales and assist customers at our retail shop in Arcata, CA. Qualifications

Job description

Representative – Inside Sales (W/CDL)

Location: Arcata, CA – Retail shop

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Sell industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding supplies, and related equipment to customers.
• Assist customers through email, telephone, and walk‑ins.
• Solicit sales from new and existing customers, managing associated paperwork for future reference.
• Assist customers with loading/unloading cylinders, provide guidance on equipment use and needed materials.
• Monitor and maintain proper hardgoods and cylinder levels to minimize emergencies.
• Manage accounts receivable, discussing past‑due accounts and collecting payments.
• Ensure accurate completion of paperwork, including coding, costing, and pricing.
• Act as backup driver when necessary.
• Operate equipment like forklifts as required.

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Class B CDL.
• Must have HAZMAT endorsement or be able to obtain the endorsement within 60 days of being hired.
• Successful completion of Airgas Background and Motor Vehicle Check.
• DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers required.
• Ability to routinely lift 25–75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76–more than 100 lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures.
• Ability to maintain a drug‑free workplace.
• Adherence to safety regulations and policies.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift experience.
• Touch freight delivery experience.
