Job summary

WHSmith North America is seeking a Replenishment Analyst to secure product availability by managing inventory flow and supporting the planning team with the merchandise plan.

You will work with vendors, stores, and the planning team to optimize reorder points, lead times, and in-store availability while leveraging Aptos Analytics and Smartlook for reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with coursework in math or statistics preferred.
  • 1+ years retail planning or allocation experience preferred.
  • Experience with merchandising, analytics, planning, and/or allocation systems.
  • Robust problem-solving, analytical, and data management skills.
  • Demonstrates high standards and accountability; detail-oriented and accurate.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative or independent team with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent time management, prioritisation, and adaptiveness to changing demands.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure management of available OTB and understand category strategy.
  • Maintain in-store availability targets with reporting for various levels of granularity.
  • Collaborate with planning to communicate risks and mitigate actions.
  • Identify improvements to increase sales or stock turn and optimize assortments.
  • Project, order, and manage core items for replenishment and allocations.
  • Resolve order and invoice discrepancies with vendors and stores.
  • Utilize analytical tools to prepare standard and ad hoc reports.
  • Allocate merchandise by store and category to balance inventory.
  • Build and maintain Allocation & Replenishment forecast models and lead times.
  • Create store inventory and assortment plans with Merchandising Planners and Buyers.
  • Post-launch analysis of new stores or initiatives to adjust replenishment metrics.
  • Plan entrance/exit strategies for seasonal products and report risks.
  • Develop relationships with vendors and field leadership for timely communication.
  • Visit stores regularly to understand customer needs and replenishment outcomes.

Job description

Working as part of a category-focused team, the Replenishment Analyst is responsible for the availability of products for our customers, by managing the timely flow of inventory through our supply chain and supporting the planning team in the delivery of the overall merchandise plan.

  • y.Accountability for category in store availability targets, ensuring that appropriate reporting is in place to understand availability opportunities at various levels of granularit
  • y.Work closely with planning team to ensure that OTB / Availability risks are clearly understood and communicated with appropriate category and functional leaders – where possible recommending action to mitigate or improv
  • e.Work closely with the team to identify and recommend areas of improvement to support increases in sales or stock turn, ex. Optimization of store assortments or range rationalizatio
  • n.Fully manage basic/core items in terms of projecting, ordering and store replenishment such as order calculation, submission, confirmation, order maintenance, PO allocation, et

  • e.Build and maintain all Allocation & Replenishment (A&R) forecast models, seasonality curves, lead times, dynamic min/max, and vendor review schedules to effectively manage vendor on order, backstock inventory, and daily store replenishmen
  • t.Build new store inventory and assortment plans in partnership with Merchandise Planners and Buyer
  • s.Carry out post launch analysis of new store openings or new initiatives to ensure appropriate replenishment metrics are in place, taking remedial action if require
