Job summary

Solotech is seeking a Repair Technician to join our service department in a warehouse setting. You will repair and maintain Solotech and S&SI equipment, create service reports, manage spare parts, and collaborate with project managers to forecast needs.

The role requires hands-on skills with lighting, audio, video gear, and a strong understanding of wiring diagrams. Join a team focused on safe, reliable post-sales support.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required with electronics repair aptitude.
  • 3 years of experience in lighting, audio, video equipment, or electronics repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Knowledge of automation and video systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce, R2 and D365 is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain inventory of lighting, audio, video, and rigging equipment.
  • Create reports detailing service work performed and forecast project needs.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Coordinate with Live Production and Project Managers to ensure timely repairs.
  • Utilize Salesforce, D365, and inventory software for tracking and reporting.
  • Ensure health and safety requirements are met and risks mitigated.
  • Support training programs and assist with fulfillment of related tasks.

The Repair Technician services and supports our service department, quality control on sold equipment, review, and confirmation of equipment/materials, estimating resource requirements for equipment repair, and all other implementation activities for our audio-visual projects or with the post-sales service and support.

Your day will look like this:
  • Repair and maintain Solotech and S&SI customer inventory using a variety of hand tools, light duty power tools, electrical meters, and electrical testers including: Lighting, Sound, Video and Rigging entertainment equipment.
  • Create reports detailing service work performed;
  • Manage spare parts Inventory;
  • Maintain preventative maintenance and repair procedures;
  • Work with Salesforce, D365 and R2 inventory software;
  • Work with manager to forecast project needs;
  • Interface with Live Production and S&SI Project Managers;
  • Work closely with dept managers for repair deliveries;
  • Ensure technical resources management; parts and materials necessary to repair, inspect, prepare and maintain the equipment;
  • Ensure RMA shipment and returns management;
  • Participate in the on ongoing training programs;
  • Identify and eliminate potential risks related to health and safety;
  • Carry out all other related tasks required to the position;
Your profile:
  • High School/GED
  • 3 years of experience in lighting, audio, video equipment, or electronics repair
  • An excellent understanding of audio, lighting, video projection for both consumer and professional grade equipment
  • Excellent technical analytical skills
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams
  • Valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Teamwork oriented
  • Ability to self-manage priorities, respecting timelines, and critical deadlines
  • Ability to self-manage multiple projects at a time
  • Knowledge of automation systems (Crestron AMX), video conferencing systems (Polycom, Cisco), lighting systems (DMX, Light Jockey, ETC, Strand), digital audio processing (Q-SYS, Soundweb, Biamp) is a plus
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, R2 and D365 a plus
  • Proficiency with Office 365 (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
