Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Repair Technician 2 to perform repair and service work on our tools. You will disassemble units, diagnose issues, replace worn parts, and test to ensure quality.

Strong English communication and basic computer use are required, with an emphasis on safety and accurate record-keeping. Responsibilities include reviewing repair orders, following TSIs and playbooks, and contributing to a clean, safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • Education equivalent to high school diploma or GED required.
  • Must have mechanical and diagnostic skills.
  • High attention to detail is essential.
  • 3+ months experience in repair/reconditioning preferred.
  • Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repair and service work on company products per procedures.
  • Disassemble and reassemble tools, replace worn parts, and test functionality.
  • Review repair orders and tool service bulletins for guidance.
  • Maintain accurate records of parts used and warranty data.
  • Ensure safety, quality standards, and proper housekeeping in area.

The job requires using a variety of hand tools and small power tools to take apart and repair the customer tools. Each repair tech has a computer to review Tool Service Bulletins, pack out instructions for reconditioned tools and parts or tools collected for Quality Engineering.Team Member Benefits:Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance along with a 401(K) program, a wellness program, fitness center, PTO, and much more.Career advancement opportunities.You will provide the best possible end-user experience through these duties and responsibilities:Work safely and intentionally during all aspects of job including proper PPE and situational awareness.Read and comprehend repair order information and parts schematics.Complete the information on the repair order form including the utilization of technician notes.Perform necessary repairs that might include disassembly of units, diagnosis of operating difficulty, location and replacement of worn or defective parts within times in accordance with work instructions.Make decisions surrounding the repair of the tool based on TSB’s, work instructions, and playbooks.Keep records of parts used and provide data for billing and/or warranty information and utilize tech notes.Recognize and report operational irregularities and defective materials.Set up and perform electrical, mechanical, and functional tests to ensure tool repair and/or work performed is in accordance with prescribed quality standards.Work from parts sheets, specifications, and drawings.Under supervision make recommendations as to warranty liability and any unusual repair problems.Work is subject to in - process and final inspection.Responsible for quality of work, safety and housekeeping in assigned area.Be a Milwaukee Tool culture champion by handling tasks as assigned, including working on different processes and departments as needed.The TOOLS you’ll bring with you: 'Requires an education equivalent to high school diploma or GEDMust have mechanical skills and diagnostic skillsHigh attention to detailBasic computer and writing skills3 months or more previous experience in Repair/Recondition meeting established goals for production, quality, and attendance.Fluency in English with strong communication skills, written and oralInternal QualificationsNo final warningsNo more than 5.75 attendance pointsEfficiency and Quality goal met for previous 3 monthsMust be in current role for 6+ monthsMust meet all job description requirements.Physical and Weightlifting Demands:Standing for long periods of timeRepetitive motionFrequent bending, stooping, pushing and pulling of parts and containersAble to work in various temperature conditionsThe physical and weightlifting demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
