Job summary

DwyerOmega seeks a Repair Technician to join the Industrial Repair Department. You will perform electro/mechanical troubleshooting, repair PWBs and sensors, and manage the return process from intake to customer delivery.

Collaborating with the repair order coordinator, supervisor, and department manager, you’ll diagnose issues, test components, and ensure quality repairs while following safety and quality policies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of progressive related work experience.
  • 2 years in electronics experience, focused on AC/DC circuitry theory and/or design.
  • Able to interpret schematics and drawings.
  • Follow verbal and written job instructions in English.
  • Must be computer literate and able to perform data input.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair and test PWBs and sensors with minimal supervision.
  • Perform validation testing of various precision electronic instruments.
  • Troubleshoot and repair down to the component level of assembled PCBs.
  • Identify failure modes in both analog and digital circuitry.
  • Analyze detailed physical inspection of returned products.
  • Process incoming returned equipment into the ERP system for proper tracking.
  • Run sensor assembly resistance and insulation resistance testing.
  • Prepare and clean parts prior to repair and/or calibration, and before returning to customers.
  • Deliver products for repair to appropriate sub work centers.
  • Review and follow up on production reports for industrial repairs.
  • Attend to other duties as assigned.

Position Purpose

Working in the Industrial Repair Department, the Repair Technician will be responsible for performing electro/mechanical troubleshooting and repair functions. Incumbent will also be responsible for the control and turnaround of returned products. The technician will regularly collaborate with the repair order coordinator, supervisor & department manager through both verbal and written communications.

Essential Job Functions (primary duties and outputs of position)

  • Diagnose, repair and test PWBs and sensors with minimal supervision.
  • Perform validation testing of various precision electronic instruments.
  • Troubleshoot and repair down to the component level of assembled printed circuit board failures.
  • Identify failure modes in both analog and digital circuitry.
  • Analyze detailed physical inspection of returned products.
  • Processing incoming returned equipment into SyteLine ERP system (RTrack), including catalogs and recordings for proper tracking of returned units before returning to the customer.
  • Run sensor assembly resistance and insulation resistance testing.
  • Prepare and clean parts prior to repair and/or calibration, and before returning to customers.
  • Deliver products for repair to appropriate sub work centers.
  • Review and follow up on production reports for industrial repairs.
  • Assist with opening incoming packages & crates, checking items into the business system.
  • Assemble and disassemble products for new components using wrenches and various hand tools.
  • Attend to other duties as assigned.

Preferred Education/Work Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of progressive related work experience.
  • 2 years in electronics experience, focused on AC/DC circuitry theory and/or design.
  • Basic knowledge of mathematics with an understanding of electronic formulas and equations.
  • Able to interpret schematics and drawings.
  • Follow verbal and written job instructions in English.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Must be computer literate and able to perform data input.
Requirements:

Physical/Travel Requirements

This position requires sitting 20% of the time. Standing and walking are required for up to 80% of the time. Manual dexterity is required in skills for typing, using wrenches, screwdrivers, or other similar tools up to 20% of the time. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
