Job summary

Warren CAT is seeking a Rental Field Technician II in Texas to provide high quality repair service on heavy equipment. The role emphasizes timely, accurate work orders, and customer-focused problem solving.

You will disassemble, repair, and reassemble engine and chassis components while mentoring junior team members. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent), a clean driving record, and the ability to obtain or possess required tooling.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
  • CDL preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Must have or obtain tooling to perform duties.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • AC certification required.
  • Must complete Work Steps assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned jobs and tasks to meet flat rate times and re-do metrics.
  • Complete related paperwork and access databases (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW) accurately and timely.
  • Remove/install parts, disassemble/assemble components, and test/adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems; provide repair recommendations and perform all rental and engine repairs.
  • Test and verify correct operation of all repairs/adjustments.
  • Apply general failure analysis to determine proper diagnosis.
  • Mentor Rental team members.

What You’ll Do
  • Complete assigned jobs and task to meet flat rate times and re-do metric.
  • Complete related paperwork and access databases required to complete job (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW) accurately and timely.

What You’ll Need
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or suggest three to five years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CDL preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos and the ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to provide accurate information to management for quoting.
  • Obtain or currently possess adequate tooling to perform duties.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Must be 21 or older.
  • Must be certified in air-conditioning.
  • Successfully complete Work Steps assessment.
