Position Overview

Our construction equipment group is seeking a full-time Rental Coordinator at our South Elgin, IL location. The Rental Coordinator will identify customer needs, coordinate equipment deliveries, and perform inventory control for our rental department. Key responsibilities include:

• Arrange equipment transfers and logistics
• Manage fleet availability, utilization, and returns
• Coordinate with Service Department for repair and maintenance of rental fleet
• Manage customer relationships
• Close rental deals from inquiries and outbound calls
• Manage vendor relationships
• Advise customers on equipment selection
• Handle DMV paperwork
• Generate rental invoices
• Track and report rental inventories
• Support outside sales team
• Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Maintain consistent, reliable attendance

Desired Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 2 years of related experience
• Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Knowledge of construction equipment, application, and safety
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
• Intermediate language skills: reading, writing, speaking
• Basic mathematical skills
• Reasoning ability to solve problems and follow instructions
• Experience with Epicor/SILK systems is a plus

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling
• Regular sitting, using hands, talking, hearing
• No special vision requirements
• Frequently lift up to 10 pounds
