Job description

The Rental Branch Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of Rental Operations for their assigned location, including day-to-day operations, customer excellence, and financial goals. This position will lead a team to successfully execute the daily logistics of rental equipment and repair activities and manage the inventory demands of the rental fleet. The Branch Manager will collaborate with the sales and regional operations teams to manage budgets and fulfill challenging objectives.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Manage and lead the day-to-day operational activities of the branch, ensuring customer excellence and profitability in compliance with all local, state, federal, and company policies, procedures and/or regulations. Ensure key performance indicators are met or exceeded.
  • Manage and oversee rental fleet turns, warranty recovery, product improvement processes, work order accuracy, damage recovery, technical services, machine/product health and quality assurance supporting rental service operations.
  • Implement, manage and enforce all policies, procedures and/or processes with store employees that support safe and profitable operations.
  • Ensure all rental personnel within the assigned branch maintain their job responsibilities (Rental Counter, Rental Service Department, Yard personnel, etc.).
  • Develop, monitor and manage the annual budget; make note of any particular circumstances that may create a budget variance.
  • Complete, monitor and manage store purchases and POs to ensure timely payment to suppliers.
  • Develop, review, and maintain immediate and long-term plans for proper resource utilization (employees, facility, tooling, and equipment).
  • Develop a climate of "Safety First" by modeling and enforcing safety procedures.
  • Set the model of professionalism by establishing good housekeeping procedures and paying attention to personal appearance.
  • Complete 100% of management requests, special assignments and/or projects accurately and on-time.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships among departments, as well as with external customers and suppliers.
  • Set the model of integrity by following through with commitments, being concerned with the welfare of your employees and establishing a high level of trust with employees, customers, and suppliers.
  • Conduct regular meetings with branch personnel to provide status reports and open lines of communication among the group.
  • Coach and mentor employees in order to build a strong team and promote the customer service experience.
  • Actively participate and provide input in weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings.
  • Implement all policies, procedures, short-term/long-term departmental strategies and goals.
  • Maintain thorough understanding of the products and services provided by Warren Rental Services to serve as a valuable resource to customers and branch personnel.
  • Communicate product and service information with customers to promote sales.
  • Create and maintain reports as management requests.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervise assigned branch personnel. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, scheduling, assigning, and directing work; setting expectations, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; promptly addressing complaints and resolving problems; building a cohesive, safe and fun culture / environment within the Rental organization.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Business, Management or other related degree from a four-year college or university; and three to five years’ related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years machine rental experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills (MS Office Suite and internal computer systems).
  • Intermediate to proficient decision making, interpersonal, relationship building, communication, leadership and influencing skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; Gather and analyze information skillfully; Develop alternative solutions; Work well in group problem solving situations; Use reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
