Job summary

Cedar Community is seeking a Maintenance Technician specializing in Construction & Remodeling to renovate, repair, and enhance apartments, homes, and other spaces across our campus. This hands-on role focuses on hands-on project work in a supportive, mission-driven nonprofit setting in Wisconsin.

Key duties include demolition and renovation, framing, carpentry, drywall, painting, installing windows and doors, basic plumbing, and safety‑driven quality work.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in construction, remodeling, carpentry, or a related skilled trade preferred.
• Working knowledge of carpentry, framing, drywall, painting, and general construction.
• Experience installing windows, doors, cabinets, fixtures, appliances, trim, and hardware preferred.
• Ability to complete basic plumbing repairs.
• Comfortable safely using common construction tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Renovation & Remodeling – Perform demolition and renovate vacant apartments, homes, and other spaces throughout Cedar Community.
• Carpentry & Construction – Complete framing, carpentry, drywall, painting, trim work, and other general construction projects.
• Installation & Repairs – Install and replace windows, doors, cabinets, fixtures, appliances, hardware, and other finishes.
• General Repairs – Complete basic plumbing repairs and other maintenance needs related to renovation projects.
• Safety & Quality – Follow safety procedures while delivering quality craftsmanship and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
